Black Betta’s, such as the aluminum, come in a couple of distinct colors. There are three colors of black: melano and black. Regrettably, melano females are sterile – eggs are produced by them, but on account of the way in which the saliva protein clump together, it’s deadly to the embryo, and the eggs don’t hatch.
